Music Module

I offered to make a friend of mine an online music store last year and after adding 2 albums I was starting to get pretty sick of having to manually add each track when they were so similar. Then I came across his 2CD Album and I gave up.
*Tip* If you have to do this task make use of the duplicate product link, it’s quicker but still slow and mind numbing~
I thought there MUST be a way around this! Of course there wasn’t one. It’s a computer with a bit of software, it wasn’t build with this task in mind. YET.
So busied myself with building an import script that finds a folder with a whole lot of .mp3s, add’s the tracks as products, folder names as a categories and if you have a jpg file in the folder it will add it as the album cover. It’s worked so far on localhost, I’m about to do some more testing with it on a couple of other servers then I might think about distributing it. However once I’m done with some more personal testing I’ll be interested to pass it on to some people to help test it.
If you want to have a play with my bleeding edge wp-e-commerce module, leave a comment and I’ll get back to ya when it’s a little further on.
